Description

Basics, How do mutations mix?
If simplified, mutations can be fitted into 5 categories:
- Speckling Mutations. (Mutations that alter the speckling or are based on the speckling colors)
- Base Coat Mutations  *first classification*. (Mutations that alter the base coat minimally, and do allow for other patterns to appear)
- Base Coat Mutations *second classification*. (Mutation that alter the base coat maximally, and do not allow for other patterns to appear)
- Pattern Mutations (Mutations that are based on white or black patterns and/or act like paint or appaloosa patterns)
- Other Mutations (Mutations that do not fit the first four classifications, usually very compatible)

- Keep this in mind as a basic stock rule: Mutations within the same category are often not compatible.
- If a mutation is classified under two different categories, it is highly incompatible with other mutations

For upcoming mixed mutations (horses with more than one mutation) I made this scheme. Look up which mutations can mix, and which cannot :D (Big Grin)

X stands for: can show together: for example 'a Glow Taguar' Imagine a glowing Taguar La la la la
O stands for: can not show together: for example: 'a Mia Deer' in this case you must choose if you want your horse to show either Mia or Deer, but not both. (horse can, and will still be a carrier of the other gene though, so it CAN pass to offspring)

How would a Deer Kiusan combine since it has both an X and an O???
